Charlene Dignam-Conroy
Owner/Operator
Charlene has been the owner/operator of Kindertots Children’s Centre since 2000, owner/operator of Kindertots After School Program since 2008, and owner/operator of Kindertots After School Too since 2009.
Kindertots delivers the highest quality of educational care for children ages newborn to 12 years within three different centres. Along with 19 Early Childhood Educators, Charlene works hard every day to ensure that their clients receive unsurpassed service with safety, equipment, program structure, learning opportunities and child development and the highest quality of non-parental care for children.
Charlene received her Early Childhood Education Certificate in 2006 and completed her New Brunswick Curriculum Framework training in 2009. Charlene also has her training in the School’s Cool Program, which focuses on School Readiness Skills for children 3 & 4 years of age, Zoo Phonics Program, a method of teaching children letter sounds, several workshops including Health and Wellness, Food Safety and Sanitation, Child Development, Curriculum Planning, Autism & PDD, Language and Literacy, First Aid & CPR, Creating an Effective After School Environment and Speech Language Methods.
Charlene believes in Kindertots being a strong part of the community. We encourage our educators and children to become involved within our community, helping and supporting local projects, such as Soldier Shoe Box Project, Breast Cancer Awareness, Christmas Food Hampers, Relay for Life, Winter Giving Tree, Food Bank, IWK, and Christmas Family Adoption and Steps for MS. Instilling a sense of community in our children gives them a sense of belonging and a sense of self worth.
Cheryl Richard
Director/Early Childhood Educator
Cheryl has been Director of Kindertots Children's Centre Inc. since March 2005 with previously being Director of Kindertots After School Program and Assistant Director since 2000. Cheryl has been with Kindertots Children's Centre Inc. for 16 years and has been working in the field of Early Childhood Education for the past 20 years. Cheryl received her Early Childhood Education Diploma from NBCC Saint John. She has also received her teaching certification for the School’s Cool Program, which focuses on Pre-School Readiness Skills for children ages 3 & 4 years. Cheryl also has participated in several workshops and training including, Safe Food Handling, Autism & PDD, Challenging Behaviors, Health and Wellness, DISC Training, (screening tool to assess a child’s development), Creating an Effective After School Environment, Speech Language, Intentional Teaching, Curriculum Development, ECCERS, ITTERS, Childcare Inclusions, Language and Reasoning, and Language to Literacy.
Cheryl is one of the founding members of EQUIP. A local group of Directors and Owner/Operators dedicated to the on-going training of Early Childhood Educators and the quality of Childcare in our region.
Cheryl is the first face you will see when registering your child at Kindertots Children’s Centre Inc. She meets with parents for centre tours and goes over the centre’s Parent Policy Manual with them. Cheryl has a great relationship with children and clients and after a few days with us, she will be part of your family.
Having a good relationship with parent and children and having a great team of Educators working the front lines is vital to offering the highest quality of care possible. Cheryl is a driving force in achieving the highest quality care at Kindertots Children’s Centre Inc. and leads a staff second to none.
Kendra McKenzie
After School Program Director & Assistant Director Kindertots Children’s Centre
Kendra McKenzie has been with Kindertots Children's Centre Inc. for the past sixteen years. Kendra graduated with a diploma in Early Childhood Education from NBCC Saint John Distance Education Program while working full time at Kindertots. Along with being the Director of our Kindertots After School Program, she is also Assistant Director at the main facility.
Kendra has participated in many workshops and training sessions including Safe Food Handling, Health and Wellness, Language of Literacy, ECCERS, ITTERS, Autism & PDD, Powers of Play, Challenging Behaviors, Leadership, Curriculum Development, Speech Language, Intentional Teaching, First Aid & CPR.
Kendra has been a vital part of the successes of our Programs. She has worked with all ages of children from newborn to our School aged children. She spends the majority of her time with the School aged children and enjoys this group very much. She has helped develop our Kindertots After School Program from its conception and also helps develop a fun and active Summer Program for this group.
Wendy Dickson
Director of Kindertots After School Too Program
Wendy is the Director of Kindertots After School Too Program. This program runs the school year at Saint Michael’s Parish Centre. Wendy has been working with the After School Program for over four years and she also works at our main facility Kindertots Children’s Centre Inc. every morning. Wendy has her Early Childhood Education from NBCC and she also has her New Brunswick Curriculum Framework training from UNB. Wendy has also participated in several workshop and training sessions over the years including ECCERS, ITTERS, Health & Wellness, Language of Literacy, Powers of Play, Intentional Teaching, Outdoor Play Environments, Leadership, First Aid & CPR, Speech Language Development and Creating Environments.
Wendy plays an important role with our team. She has experience working with all ages of children from birth to 12 years old. She spends the majority of her time with the School aged children and enjoys this group very much. Wendy will have a new role starting the fall of 2016. She will be teaching our Pre-School Program ~ Ready Set Learn TOO. This program is at Saint Michael’s Basilica Parish Centre. It’s a half-day Program for four year olds.
